A-ha's "Take On Me" was a monumental work of animation art. Directed by Steve Barron, the video's iconic pencil-sketch look was created using rotoscoping, a technique where animators traced over live-action footage frame by frame. The process was incredibly demanding, requiring over 3,000 individual drawings and 16 weeks to complete, resulting in one of the most beloved and groundbreaking videos of the 1980s.
