Aimee Mann
When Paul Thomas Anderson wrote the script for his film Magnolia, he used Aimee Mann's music as his core inspiration. This led to one of the most unique collaborations in film and music: the movie that was inspired by the song literally became the music video for the song. At the end of each shooting day, the cast would stay in place while PTA filmed Aimee singing in the actual movie sets, as if observing the very characters her music inspired to create.
