Director Nick Egan placed Alanis Morissette in the Mojave Desert with no props or sets, stripping away all the gloss of the era and relying entirely on her raw, unpolished vocal performance to carry the visual. The shoot was heavily improvised after the crew pulled over on the side of a highway.
