Bad Hints
This video has a few different characters, all played by the artist Bad Hints. The narrator is a disembodied mouth that seems to belong to a woman sitting at a desk in a candlelit room. The next is a gorilla woman living in a cave. The camera acts as another character - someone trying to find a "thing in the dark" - the gorilla. As the camera almost catches her, the gorilla escapes with a bit of magic. The other two characters are the Morning Sun and La Luna, who circle around our lives unaffected by our happenings. The style of the video was inspired by the films of Georges Méliès. I made paper mache headdresses and tried to use light and editing to add a little magic to the story.
