Chemical Brothers
The Chemical Brothers' "Wide Open" is a technical marvel that blurs the line between human and machine. In one continuous shot, directors Dom & Nic and the VFX artists at The Mill transform dancer Sonoya Mizuno (from Ex Machina and Annihilation) into a transparent, 3D-printed version of herself. Using meticulous frame-by-frame animation and 3D scans of both the dancer and the set, they created a visual effect that is both beautiful and haunting.
