In the video for "To Build a Home," the two lead actors, Peter Mullan and Julia Ford, met for the very first time just ten minutes before filming their first kiss. This immediate, raw intimacy was key to a story that director Griff based on his own experience with loss, creating a powerful short film about a couple's final moments together. The project was originally commissioned as two separate animated music videos, but the director combined the budgets to shoot this live-action short film in just two days. The video premiered at the prestigious Edinburgh Film Festival and was given a special screening on Channel 4 in the UK. The "set" was a real abandoned holiday farm in Shap, Cumbria. The production used it exactly as they found it, with no additional set dressing.
