R.E.M.
The director of R.E.M.’s “Losing My Religion” video, Tarsem Singh, initially had a completely different and more static concept. On the day of the shoot, he realized it wasn't working and became physically ill from the stress. He then scrapped his original plan and decided to focus entirely on capturing Michael Stipe’s spontaneous and unchoreographed dancing, which he had seen in a club. This last-minute decision, born from a moment of crisis, created one of the most memorable performances in music video history.
