The Pharcyde
The Pharcyde's "Drop" was a mind-bending creative feat. Director Spike Jonze had the entire group learn their lyrics phonetically backward with the help of a linguistics coach. They then performed the whole video in reverse on the streets of L.A. When the footage was flipped, they looked normal while the world moved backward around them. It's a testament to the power of a great idea, and a perfect match for the iconic J Dilla-produced track.
