The Prodigy
Walter Stern put The Prodigy inside a decrepit, abandoned apartment shared with millipedes, cockroaches, and a live alligator — Liam Howlett originally insisted on a hippo, and Stern talked him into the alligator. Filmed in October 1996 with a brief to maintain the same level of insanity as "Firestarter" without repeating it; the alligator came via Amazing Animals, with VFX and design by The Mill. It won Best Video at the 1997 MTV Europe Music Awards. Stern went directly from this to The Verve's "Bitter Sweet Symphony" and Massive Attack's "Teardrop."
