The Film School You Never Went To.
90-second reels aren't enough to explain a revolution. That's why The Music Video Guy (180k+ followers) is expanding into long-form. Join Carla and Maui as they build the ultimate audio-visual archive of the music video era.
Featuring exclusive interviews with industry titans like Marc Webb (My Chemical Romance, The Amazing Spider-Man) and François Nemeta (Daft Punk, Modjo), plus deep dives into the trends that shaped pop culture. We don't just watch the videos; we break down the lighting, the lenses, and the legacy.
Let's dive in.
Manage Entries loads and searches the full catalog. Add Entry and Bulk Import don't -- pick those directly if you're just adding new videos.
Suggestions visitors have made for existing entries -- Accept applies the change directly and republishes; Decline just dismisses it.
A verified badge confirms a Profile really is the person credited in the catalog. Only approve when the matched catalog credit(s) shown genuinely look like this person.
The shared queue everyone watching TV Mode's Channel tab sees in sync. Add videos or whole playlists, reorder with the arrows, and changes apply live to anyone already tuned in.

Voting is open to any catalog video from the Vote button on the site -- there's no round to manage here, just the live standings, for deciding what's worth featuring on Instagram. Currently free to vote; no payment is collected.
TRL-style retirement: a video that camps in the top for cumulative days gets permanently retired from the leaderboard and enshrined below instead of sitting at #1 forever. Nothing runs automatically yet -- this only ever changes anything when you click the button below, on purpose, while this is still being tested. See VOTE_RETIREMENT_PLAN.md.
1080x1350 images, ready to post -- same black/purple gradient as the landing page. Pick one, wait for it to render, then download.
Auto-flagged by a basic wordlist check when claimed -- not exhaustive, just a first pass. Reset clears the username from that account and frees it up; Dismiss just clears the flag if it's actually fine.
Blocks self-service claiming of these names -- you can still assign one to yourself or a specific account by signing in as an admin and setting it in Settings.
Paste rows copied from a spreadsheet, including the header row. Recognized columns (any order, extras ignored, common alternate spellings OK -- e.g. "Youtube Link" or "Year of release"): Artist, Song Title, Director, Category, YouTube Link, Vimeo Link, MVG Link, Year, Release date, Studio, Producer, DP, Editor, Choreographer, Country, Genre 1, Genre 2, Genre 3 (or a single Genre column), Description, Feature, Spotlight, Sponsored, Row #. Include "Row #" to update an existing entry; leave it blank to create a new one.
Pick a username -- it's only ever shown if you choose to display your name on a vote (off by default). Change it anytime in Settings, or skip this for now.
Search the catalog and vote for as many videos, as many times, as you like.
